MERLIN 360XC – Vectacraft’s fastest cartoner to date, launched at the Interpack’11.

Vectacraft created quite a stir when it launched its fastest cartoner at the Interpack’11 expo held in Dusseldorf, Germany.

The MERLIN 360XC handles products like bottles, vials, blister strips, tubes and a host of other products by receiving them from upstream machine and automatically feeding them into its product conveyor.

Designer model Cartoner at the Interpack’08

Vectacraft created a first in the packaging machinery segment when it displayed a ‘designer model’ cartoner in the form of its MERLIN 300XC at the Interpack’08 in Dusseldorf. The ‘curvy’ shape and the matt steel outer aesthetics appealed to a whole lot of visitors and competitors alike and all were happy to note that even machines were now being shaped and modelled like cars. Of course, Vectacraft would like to take the credit for starting this trend

And it was not just beauty without brains. The cartoner was presenting bottles being packed at 300 cartons/minute, wherein the bottles were being fed by a turntable. The newly-designed rotary carton pick-up system (with on-line pre-breaking) along with a rotary pick-up system for pre-folded leaflets showed Vectacraft’s potential in coming up with newer technology. Just to make a point to would-be customers, one carton had a tuck-in flap and the other was glued with a hot-melt system.

Vectacraft’s top showing at the Interpack’08.

Vectacraft had a great show at this edition of Interpack’08 which was held in Dusseldorf, Germany from April 24th – 30th, 2008. Located in Hall 6, stand E55, this was Vectacraft’s debut at the Interpack. And what a grand one it was considering that this was also the biggest in Interpack history. We had displayed our MERLIN 300XC cartoner working for bottles at a scintillating 300 cartons/minute. The machine was working throughout the 8 hours of the show time, each day, everyday for 7 days.

Visitors were wondering how a new company has emerged from India with such a technologically advanced cartoner. Well, Vectacraft is not new in terms of experience. Of course it is a newly formed company from the Subnil group (Subnil specialises in tube packaging lines) and it was created a couple of years back with complete know-how and personnel transferred from Subnil. So the knowledge of building and working on cartoners goes back 25 years - Subnil’s first machine was an intermittent cartoner.

It’s always a great feeling to innovate, show it and then soak in the adulation showered by visitors. The kind of response we received for our Cartoner was amazing. Besides working at high speed, it also had a couple of technologically advanced features. It had a newly-designed rotary pick-up for cartons, pre-breaking included. This is specially designed to handle some not-so-good cartons. Also, instead of a leaflet folding system, a pre-folded leaflet system was displayed. The leaflets were picked up by a rotary pick-up system from the stack and then fed directly to the pincers on the leaflet chain. To show the variety in closing systems possible, flap on one side of the carton was of tuck-in type and the other had gluing flaps which was closed by a hot-melt gluing system.

A great expo for Vectacraft this and one of many many more to come!

Presenting the Merlin 300XC:
A WHOLE NEW SPECIES OF CARTONER.

Vectacraft unveils the first of its ambitious range of secondary packaging solutions.

A cartoning machine born for the “faster time-to-market” age, this baby is poised – with a top speed of 300 cartons per minute – to become an indispensable link in the customer’s manufacturing process.
As efficient as it is imposing, the Merlin 300XC is named after a majestic strain of the falcon family which inspires both its styling and its soul.

One glance at it will assure you of its refinement. But don’t be swayed by its sleek lines alone. Wait to watch it perform before you make up your mind at the IPC’s Pharma Expo’06 from 1st to 3rd December 2006.
